AJ Bachhal is a fun-loving family man with 30 years experience in the hospitality industry. In 1992, at age 19, he oversaw the construction of his father’s hotel in Kamloops, The Mountview Motor Inn. He left to pursue his own life and over the next 11 years, he finished school, got married, had some kids and a good career. Hospitality kept calling and he moved back to take over his father’s hotel, now the Travelodge Mountview, where he then handled the day-to-day operations. In 2012, he took over the Clearwater Lodge and later added a Best Western Plus next door in 2021. As a husband and father of 4 he splits his time between Kamloops and Clearwater.

Over the years AJ has served on multiple boards including the Kamloops Accommodation Association and Clearwater Economic Development Board. His philosophy is, in order to have a successful property, you must openly and honestly share information with your competitors and learn to work together. He is very excited about bringing his ideas and experience to the TOTA board but most importantly, learning from the other members.
