Vineyards, wineries and culture thrive
SOUTH OKANAGAN - Gallagher Lake, Kaleden, Marron Valley, Naramata, Okanagan Falls, Oliver, Osoyoos, Penticton and Summerland
Vineyards and wineries, orchards and fruit stands dominate an agricultural region carved from the arid landscape where Indigenous culture still thrives. The South Okanagan features lakes, vineyards and orchards with communities dotted along the Hwy 97 corridor. With the driest climate in the country, this region encompasses the only true desert in Canada. The Indigenous lands of the NK’MIP Desert Cultural Centre are among Canada’s three most endangered ecosystems and home to many endangered plant and animal species.
